G.R. Revelle
Writing is
one of my lifetime pleasures. I can't remember when I began
to enjoy composition: grade and high school,
university bluebooks...bring them on. Essay questions...I'd take
them all; there's so much to say and how to finish before the bell
rings!"
Gerald
Randolph
Revelle was born in Ohio and grew up in
SE Missouri’s Bootheel; "Jerry" has written fiction since the third
grade,
but didn’t take publishing seriously until later in his life.
Photo journalism, short stories and other articles began to appear…most
specializing in his Scandinavian heritage, including the novels "My
Enemy's Child" and "Vallkulla", in four volumes.
The
only son of a
second generation Swedish emigrant mother and a Southern father,
Scandinavian folklore sometimes bubbles over his
southern soul
and blues
harmonica playing. As he says, when suddenly digressing while
fiddling
a Swedish schottische:
“…my catfish are swimming with the lutefisk
again.”
As
a
instrument-rated pilot and businessman, Jerry still finds time to
folkdance, fiddle, fish and
photograph and loves writing about them all. He
studied English and drama at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis
in the ’60s but has worked exclusively in the field of engineering and
technology, both in the US and abroad, since. These
years included stints on a couple Apollo projects.

Librarians,
nurses and teachers...all love to help people. Librarians are
always
looking for good reading suggestions and appreciate patron's
recommendations. Many librarians must rely
on monthly lists from library publications and commercial publisher's
reviewers for their new book purchases.
Libraries
have great websites with searchable catalogs, where you can often
review books yourself and suggest the purchase of a book you may have
enjoyed, so others in your community can share your pleasure.

Debtors Corner
At most festivals, someone wants to
purchase our books, but hasn't brought wallet or checkbook. No
problem, we're trusting folks. We give them the books, take their
name and phone number and ask them to mail us payment...same for NSF
credit cards.
If they forget (don't we all) we mail a postcard reminder; still no
reply, we
call. If they ignore two reminders, their names go here. In
two years here are the defaulters out of thousands of customers.
There
are many honest people in America.

Stolen
Children
The
Nazi Holocaust attempted to eliminate whole gene pools. 21st.
Century science may offer a more subtle
final solution through genetic manipulation, stealing your family's
genes...or will it eliminate them altogether and like 1939, will you
have a choice?
Two
nurses, two countries, two ideals...
In
Pre-WW-II Germany two female nursing students meet at a Berlin
university. Alena grew up wild and promiscuous in Berlin.
Karin is
the proper child of Swedish-Norwegian diplomats. Opposites
attract and
they quickly become fast friends, remaining so throughout nursing
training.
Employed
in a Berlin hospital after graduating, Alena takes a lover, Lorentz, an
engineering student and future Luftwaffe pilot. Hitler invades
Austria
in 1938 and Alena is eager to become pregnant and

My Enemy's Child
Reader's Comments
I
wish you well with your book. I firmly believe you are right to have a
good love story in there, and for it not to be too technical. My Mum
& Dad met each other in the RAF during the War. We know this was
not uncommon. All the best. Charles P., England
Got
your book---thank you so much! Love the cover!...Carole Y, MO.
I
am a member of the Sons of Norway book group and would be so grateful
if you would personalize my copy of your book....Deb J..,WI
We were
excited to find out about your book and will enjoy discussing it at our
Norwegian Book Group. Marge L., USA
Mike
just finished reading your book-----he thorougly enjoyed the
story....there is a bit of the romantic in all of us. He reads
constantly, many long historical novels, so this was right up his
alley. Judy G. USA
Your book is
intriguing - am enjoying it very much! Marilyn S. USA!
It was so very
great to meet you at our VASA meeting. I am so very happy
to have purchased your book. I have read only a few chapters but
I can barely put it down! It is of the time period that I enjoy
reading about and seeing videos and DVDs. Ron H., MN.
I
completed reading the book ----- what
a fine, excellent story you've told, Jerry!! I am im-
pressed by
your
sensitivity and attention to detail. I honestly feel your story
would
make a MOVIE every bit as dramatic as Dr. Zhivago or The Titanic
or
Sophie's Choice. Really! The characters are well
defined, there are
so many dramatic scenes and locations. It's just an excellent
book. Judy G., WI
I
found the
book to be spell binding. I sent this e-mail to all on my e-mail list.
My wife is now reading it and can not put it down. I hope you get some
sales from my e-mail. Ron H., MN
I loved the
book; it was a mystery...it was a love story and I plan to read it
again because of the detail. Ev K., WI
It was a
page
turner; I stayed up late at night reading because I thought it was such
a good story. Marge L., WI.

(Therese
Nahlbom has had an interesting project, she has
been contracted to do the photography of vallkullor for an American
author.)
Vallkulla
Book
Review from
Sweden
"... even in
conversation
he seems to have a natural talent for relating thought-provoking scenes
and portraying fresh perspectives." VolumeOne Magazine
Deb
Jarvar, Loven Lodge Sons of Norway reviewer offers:
"...in Vallkulla, “Author,
Jerry Revelle, deftly conveys a vivid
sense of suspense, longing, and retribution in his novel. The main
character, Anna Stina is a strong willed Swedish dairy maid (and unwed
mother) forced to deal with
injustice while maintaining honor.
A superb story written from the heart."
